AVALOKITESVARA THANGKA (TIBETAN: 'CHENREZIG')
Description
Another lovely thangka painting of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, painted in the unmistakable style of CK Dong Lama, here seen in his 4-armed form, holding a rosary, a lotus and the cintamani, or ‘wish-fulfilling jewel’. Avalokitesvara is also known as Sadaksari, ‘Lord of the six syllables’, due to his connection with one of the most sacred of all mantra, the six-syllabled ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’, found enclosed in the prayer wheels in Tibetan monasteries.
